Everyone in the Kathputli Colony refers to the stilted performer as ‘The Tall Man’. The Kathputli colony is a slum in northwest Delhi mostly inhabited by Indian performers practicing tradicional art forms such as marionette puppetry, juggling, magic, acrobatics, dance and music. Many have traveled all over the world showcasing their abilities and making ample livings doing so, but they still remain in this slum, which is one of the worst in the city.
